Open Mic Night

Say farewell to 2023 by coming to Open Mic Night and doing a reading* of something (or part of something) you've been writing during the year.

BCPL Writing Group’s Open Mic Night

To do a reading, participants must sign-up:

• Sign-up as early as Monday, 2 Oct 2023; please be signed-up by Monday, 4 December 2023.
• Sign-up:
  • online by registering directly for this event
  • by indicating you want to do a reading when you register for BCPL's National Novel Writing Month, month-long event

Readings:

• Individual readings* should be no longer than 5 minutes** (about 2.5 double spaced pages, 12-pt font).
  • *If you would like something read, but do not want to do the reading yourself, you are welcome to bring someone else to do the reading for you.
  • **Times may be lengthened or shortened based on how many participants would like to read.

NaNo Prize Drawing and Inviting your Fans:

• Invite a friend to come and listen to you too!  No need to RSVP if you’re not planning on having your work read.
• The drawing for NANOWRIMO participants will take place at the beginning of the evening. See event details for drawing rules.
• Registration is required for those who would like to do a reading at Open Mic Night. All others may attend without registering in advance.
